No risk, no worry: HSV usually is oral and is rarely transmitted except when there is an outbreak, i.e. cold sores. Even then, it is transmitted mostly by intimate (sexual) kissing and rarely by social kissing, shared eating utensils, cups, drinking glasses, etc. It is not transmitted by food, towels, and so on. If you have no symptoms, i.e only a positive blood test, there is little risk of passing it on.
