Can a blood test be as reliable as a pap smear test for stds?

Different Tests: A pap smear looks only for hpv - a virus that causes cervical cancer. Other cervical swabs test for gonorrhea, chlamydia, trichomoniasis and bacterial vaginosis. There is no blood test for those conditions. Other stds do require a blood test such as hepatitis and hiv.
