Higher than necesary: And i know i misspelled necessary. I encourage smokers to avoid oral contraceptive use, and vice versa, because of the increased risk for blood clots. Why increase your risk for no good reason? More importantly how do you justify "working out" for fitness then throwing it all away by smoking.

Small: Unless you have factors in your blood that make you have a tendency to clot, birth control pills have less than a 1% chance of causing clotting. Stopping smoking will further lower your risk.
