Can i treat genital warts while pregnant?

Yes: They can be treated, but treatment options are more limited in pregnancy because some treatments are toxic. Your doctor should evaluate them to see if they need to be treated and discuss the appropriate treatments in pregnancy with you.

With caution: If the warts are not growing postpone treatment to the third trimester or after delivery. Common treatments include cryotherapy ( with liquid nitrogen), podophlyllin compounds and Imiquimod cream. Liquid nitrogen or in special situations Imiquimod may be used in pregnancy. Ask your obstetrician or dermatologist if treatment is appropriate for you.
