what are the symptoms of over-masturbation?

Some clues appear: Frequency of masturbation varies a lot. For some, once every 8 wks seems too much; but for others, once every 8 hrs seems not enough. One should maybe cut back if he or she often thinks of doing it less, if he or she starts feeling guilty about it, if it interferes with his or her daily activities such as school or work, or if there are signs such as painful urination or bloody semen (see a dr.!).

A 24-year-old member asked:

Is there anything I can do while masturbating to train myself to last longer?

Yes: There is some biofeedback. You can bring yourself to the point of climax, stop, pinch the tip of your penis hard for 30 seconds and resume. This is called the squeeze technique. Medications may also be helpful. Some sex therapists recommend less masturbation and more couples training to help time orgasm better.

This is VERY good advice. I've known a few people for whom the "squeeze technique" has changed lives dramatically for the better.

If you are interested in doing something outside of a sexual context to help improve your control, you can try kegel exercises in order to strengthen your pelvic muscles and your ability to contract them and possibly resist ejaculation.

If i'm obsessed with masturbation, could I have ocd?

Very likely, yes.: By definition OCD contains the word "obsessed". Generally when we say we are obsessed about something it's because we don't like a specific thought, feeling or behavior we have that contriols us and we don't control it. To rise to the level of a disorder it has to impact our life negatively, cause problems and appear to be out of our willful control. That's when professional help is needed.

Are there any signs or symptoms of masturbation?

No: Other then erosions (if you're really rough on yourself) or little brown deposits from old microbleeds (if you use a tight grip), there's no signs. Only charlatans and crackpots claim it will make you sick. If you're a guy, maybe dad would be a good person to talk to; if you're a girl, i bet mom would have good advice. Love responsibly and wisely, and welcome your changing body.

You decide: Almost all adults do something like this. If it's interfering with the other things you want to do or should do, it may be time to ask why. If it is compulsive and you feel forced many times a day, a visit with someone specializing in behavioral health may help you find why your mind is keeping you trapped rather than finding somebody special.

A 20-year-old female asked:

Does masturbation affect of virginity? And what's the symptoms of masturbation?

?: I don't understand your question. It doesn't make any sense. Masturbation has nothing to do with virginity. And it's not a disease or condition so what symptoms would there be?
