Yes: In 44 states being a gestational carrier is legal and you can have a contract and payment. In the remaining 6 states it is illegal so there can be no contract but the gc can be paid "reasonable" expenses. Most states do a pre-birth order rather than an adoption. It is easier and the genetic parents sign the birth certificate. Hope this helps and what a wonderful thing you are doing.
