Sometimes : Sometimes it takes a while for the periods to regulate on birth control, and irregular period at first isn't too unusual. If it persists, then you may need a different preparation of birth control, with a slightly different estrogen/progesterone mixture. So if you continue with the irregular bleeding, contact your physician and discuss this issue.
