Yes: The pill is tried and true. However, there is no risk-less medication.

Depends: The pill has been around for decades with successful use in the billions of doses. That said there is a subset of women who have family medical histories or personal medical conditions that place them at higher risk for complications with use, including some that are deadly. Any use should be based on a thorough evaluation and understanding of their use.
