Rectal : Rectal itching, or pruritus ani is cause by several things. Local irritation from any cause (excess moisture, poor hygiene) can trigger itching. It can be caused by candida, a skin fungus. Often it is associated with pinworms. Rarely it is a symptom of psoriatis. Proper hygiene and cleansing is necessary. Mild topical astringents or steroids can provide relear. Specific antifungal or antiparasitic therapy is necessary. Don't be embarassed to discuss this with your doctor.
