Many things: Some of the causes of rectal bleeding are: 1.- hemorrhoids 2.- fissures 3.- arteriovenous malformations 4.- polyps 5.- cancer 6.- colitis 7.- upper GI bleed etc, etc, etc.... It is always good to get seen by a physcian if you are experiencing rectal bleeding.
