A member asked:

Why don't more people use diaphragms for birth control?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Personal choice: Diaphragms, used properly, can be effective but require successful technique for insertion and the use of somewhat messy gels for the best effect. These are extra steps and not always readily available. Pills are not messy, easy to use, and always working. This is an easier although more expensive alternative. Most take the easy route.
