Safe sex: Same as for any other person, the best way to protect from STDs is thru practicing safer sex. For lesbian couples that would entail using latex dental dams or slit open condoms for any oral to gentile or genital to genital contact. Condoms can be used on any sex toys, and latex gloves can be worn for any digital to genital contact if desired.

Protect yourself: Women who partner with women can use barrier methods including condoms (if they have male partners), fingercots and dental dams (with female and female bodied partners) and disinfect and wash any sexual toys. Women should also see their health provider for routine screening for sti's includng hiv.
