Prostate Exams: First, this vital examination should be done if you have concerns, or symptoms of problems regardless of age. But, without symptoms, there is very little need to do a prostate exam until after forty. A prostate exam is a small part of predicting if you have any unwanted growth or other abnormality requiring more investigation. Do not be afraid to ask your health care provider when to examine.

Agree with Dr. K: It is reasonable to have an assessment of prostate health at age 40.
