Yes: Like other infections/inflammatory conditions, an immunocompetent system will heal and become functional. However, unlike other scenarios, the scarring and other post-healing changes can affect the ability of the fallopian tube to efficiently bring the fertilized egg back into the uterine cavity for implantation (e.g. Increased risk for ectopic pregnancy).
