HSV encephalitis: Generally speaking the swelling associated with hsv encephalitis may last about 1-2 weeks. However, as the swelling resolves, patients clinical course varies. Some patients may have dramatic improvement, but many patients with hsv encephalitis have long-term neurologic sequelae.
