Probably borderline.: Culture results are usually positive in 48-96 hrs.. Elisa and PCR are just as sensitive or more than culture. Seroconversion can document primary infections. A tzanck prep. From lesion scrapings can help make a clinical diagnosis by showing multinucleated giant cells or inclusions by cytology.
