Probably viral infxn: You have picked up a viral illness that causes inflammation of the gut. This is what's commonly called "stomach flu" although it is not caused by the influenza virus. Most of these viral illnesses that cause gastroenteritis (the medical term for this condition of inflamed gut) resolve in one day, in some cases may last several days. Drink plenty of water and when you are ready start a bland diet.
