If i had unprotected sex with a heroin user, can i use the oraquick home hiv test?

Yes, repeat 90 days: If the test is negative, repeat the test in 3 to 6 months. You should be tested for other sexually transmitted infections like Hep B, syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia. I recommend using condoms to decrease risk of exposure to sexually transmitted infections.

Yes: but that will only give you a baseline test, since even with exposure, there may be as long as a 3 month lag time between infection and development of a positive antibody test. If you develop an acute viral syndrome after exposure (fevers, sweats, chills, muscle aches, malaise) see a physician immediately. I would consider, if this individual is high risk or known to be positive, prophylactic meds
