Vaginitis: You can have other infections that can cause similar presentation. Bacterial vaginosis, Candidiasis, and other forms of vaginitis can present in a similar fashion. A pelvic exam by your gynecologist can help.

Maybe: Yeast or Bacterial vaginosis. Its ok to get a recheck. Thats what I would recommend. Good luck.

Need an exam: You definitely need an vaginal exam and have the discharge examined. Sounds like you have an infection that may require antibiotics.
