A member asked:

How serious is bloody stool as a side effect from pregnancy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on cause: Many pregnant women have hemorrhoids that may produce blood stool and may resolve after delivery. However, any bleeding in the stools is a serious issue, including hemorrhoids, the later can cause enough blood loss to make a person anemic. It would be prudent to see your doctor, which you should be doing as part of antenatal care.
