Birth Control: If you actually start your OCPs when you start your period, you are immediately protected. If you start at any other time, I usually recommend a back up contraception for 2 weeks. Also, when you start pills in the middle of your cycle, it can throw your period off. I would suggest continuing the pill as prescribed, but taking a pregnancy test in the next 2 weeks. Good luck
