Is it possible for hpv to ping-pong back and forth between monogamous partners given reasonable time? and do we remain carriers for life?

HPV: lifetime ?: Once proven HPV has been documented, the occurrence of additional outbreaks even with monogamous partners depends on immunologic factors and stress influences. The virus may remain dormant for variable times, but concurrent illness ("flu") or increased stress can activate the virus, and outbreaks are a consequence.

Yes and No: Anyone who is sexually active can get HPV, even if you have had sex with only one person. You also can develop symptoms years after you have sex with someone who is infected making it hard to know when you first became infected. HPV infection goes away in most people, unlike Herpes, which remains in body for ever.

Toss The Right Thing: According to National Cervical Cancer Coalition"Current partners are likely to share HPV"and"Partners who are sexually intimate only with each other are not likely to pass the same virus back and forth."However, there are a few details you need to work out and I'd advise you check their website: http://www.nccc-online.org/ Remember that other things CAN be tossed back and forth (like compliments)
