See details: Missing a pill by a few hours does not usually cause abnormal bleeding but it can happen. This might affect the appearance of your usual menses. If your menses are significantly lighter or shorter, I would suggest you verify that you are not pregnant. It is unlikely but possible. If the test is negative, continue your pills in the usual manner. If the bleeding occurs with the next pack, see your gynecologist. I am assuming that you are having no other symptoms. If you are, see your GYN now.
