Depends: This depends on your age and whether or not you have resumed your menses. If you are getting your period then normally it can take up to one year for a normal couple to conceive.

I have been off the Depo-Provera shots since aug 2010... And have not gotten pregnant yet. Im 20 years old. Should I worry?

No: I would not worry yet. You should see an obgyn or fertility specialist to see if the Depo-Provera is still having an effect on your body. Sometimes it can suppress your body's hormones even more than 1 year.

A 21-year-old female asked:
I stopped Depo-Provera after 2 years & started developing a period once a month consecutively. Could I get pregnant now? Or is the Depo-Provera still possibly in me?

Yes: If it's been more than 3 months since your last Depo-Provera shot and your periods have returned to normal, it's possible to get pregnant. It's possible before that, but definitely by then, if you are trying to conceive, i recommend "taking charge of your fertility" by toni weschler. She also has a website, tcoyf.Com.

Yes: Depo-provera will eventually leave the body and it's contraceptive effects ceases. When menses and ovulation returns the ability to conceive improves.
