Is it possible to father a healthy child with a woman with genital herpes without the man contracting it during sex?

Two party exposure: Acquiring herpes from a partner is less likely when the partner is between flare ups. Medication & awareness can help that process, but it is possible to have unprotected sex (make baby) from someone in remission & not get infected. Risk for baby is also a consideration. Herpes can cause a devistating distruction of babies brain if acquired during l&d.Many choose to deliver by plan c/s to avoid.
