Absolutely: Burning during intercourse can certainly be a symptom of an STD. It can also be a symptom of irritation. There is a huge difference in what you do, so you really need to see a doc, have some testing done, and find out what the cause is. Only then can appropriate treatment be initiated. BCP's can also cause changes in vaginal tissues, so a change in this may also be indicated.
