A member asked:

I took azithrin to teat chlamydia last monday. today i am seeing a lot of discharge. is there any connection?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possibly: Because Azithrin (azithromycin) is an antiobiotic that can kill both bad and good bacteria, sometimes its use allows yeast to overgrow and the above symptoms of vaginal yeast infection to occur. This problem occurs quite commonly in women with the use of many different classes of antibiotics and requires an antifungal intravaginal tablet, cream or oral medication (e.g. fluconazole) for treatment.
