Yes: Sprintec uses a combination of Norgestimate and Ethynyl Estradiol and is effective contraception. It is a "third generation" pill using a newer progesterone that some woman tolerate better than the older-generation progesterones. Some studies have shown a slight increase in thromboembolic events with third-gen pills. Best wishes!
