A member asked:

What birth controls are there out there that do no have hormones in them. they are making me gain weight. i haven't had kids yet. taking sprintec now.

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not many: Nonhormonal contraceptive methods include: rhythm method (risky), condoms, caps/diaphragms (hard to find, no longer avilable), female condoms, spermicides and paragard iud. All other methods utilize some form of hormone. All use Progesterone and some like oral birth control pills use estrogen. Pills average 5 lb gain per year, Depo-Provera shot up to 15lb per year.
