Amox: All doctors would recommend using secondary birth control such as condoms when on antibiotics. Amoxicillin has a very low risk of interfering with the birth control but it is still recommended. Hope that helps.

Amoxicillin/ BC pill: Yes. Any antibiotic can interfere with birth control pills. The risk is small but possible.

Only one antibiotic: According to the american congress of obstetrics and gynecology and the collaborative cdc contraception guidelines, Rifampin (and its derivatives) is the only antibiotic proven to decrease effectiveness of combination oral contraceptives. However, if labeling placed on prescriptions regarding oral contraceptives and antibiotics causes undue worry, a backup method while on antibiotics is acceptible.
