Dating a guy who has herpes. he's never had symptoms but blood test positive. what's the chance of me getting herpes if we use condoms and no sores?

Possible: Even with condoms and other barriers, the risk of contracting herpes through any contact (digital, oral, anal, vaginal) is still present. The barriers reduce the risk, but they do not eliminate it. Male carriers tend to not show symptoms or signs, even though they can potentially secrete the virus during sexual activity. Sorry, i wish it could be better news.

Reduced but never 0: Without any history of sores/outbreaks, current open sores/outbreaks, or abnormal sensations such as tingling (signs of an impending outbreak), and utilizing a barrier protection method such as condoms, you reduce your risk. However condoms have a 12% failure rate. Moreover, hsv 2 shedding can still occur occur without signs or symptoms.
