Yes.: If you scratch your cold sore and then scratch your genital area, it is possible to develop herpes lesions in the vaginal area too. It used to be thought that type 1 herpes only occurred above the waist while type 2 occurred only below the waist, but it turns out that you can get either type in either location - or any other location on the body, for that matter.
