I have been on yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) for about one week now and i am having severe stomach pains. should i continue to take it or stop.

Stop: It is unwise to continue taking any non-essential medication if there are intolerable side effects. Even if you are sure that the yasmin (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol) is the culprit, it come down to your choice to continue and have stomach pains which are not likely to dissipate or stop and contact your doc for a different but comparable medication. You will need barrier protection until new medication.

It depends: Generally speaking, it takes approximately 3 months for your body to adjust to a birth control pill, after which the symptoms should be minimal or nonexistent. However, if the cramping is intolerable, return to your physician to request a different pill.
