Can std's be hereditary?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

STDs: No, they are not hereditary in the sense that they are carried in one's dna, but some can be transmitted to the fetus in utero. Syphilis is the major problem, but HIV can be passed in utero and also acquired at the time of delivery through the vaginal barrel or by breast feeding.
