May be normal: It is quite likely the discoloration you are seeing is completely normal. It is very common for the labia and the area around the opening of the vagina to be more darkly colored than the surrounding skin. The color can also change as you age. If you have other symptoms such as a vaginal discharge, itching, or pain, then it is possible that you have a vaginal infection. Your doctor can assess this.
