Herpes?: Red patches around the anus and vagina would frequently be herpes lesions. This would not show up on blood tests. Typically the lesions start with blisters that have a red rim and burn. The lesions then crust over then eventually heal. So a doctor needs to see the lesions to make the diagnosis. Can be spread through sexual contact if any lesions are present at the time of sex.
