9 days too long: A heavy nine day menstrual period at age 51 connotes the need to see a GYN MD to be evaluated for the abnormal bleeding and possible anemia. Possible causes are uterine fibroids or peri menopausal prolonged estrogen only bleeding/endometrial proliferation/cancer. Run a pregnancy test and if negative see the GYN MD ASAP.
