Limited evidence: At the present time, there is very little evidence to link speech difficulties with sleep apnea as a cause.

Possibly indirectly: Sleep apnea in children is very commonly due to an enlarged tonsils and adenoids. Children with enlarged tonsils and adenoids often have difficulty speaking as their speech is very muffled and not very clear due to their airway obstruction. The two conditions may go together and removing the tonsils and adenoids cannot only cure the sleep apnea but improve their voice.
