A member asked:

Okay to use vaseline in dry eyes?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

NO: Vaseline is a skin product that theoretically should not be used in the eyes. But a number of patients have used it and stated it relieved there dry eyes. I have not seen any side effects on a couple of patients that were regularly using them. But i stopped them & put them on appropriate ophthalmic drops. There are also punctal plugs, and prescription medications other than tear drops & gels.
