L4 radiculitis: You are describing the L4 dermatome. If this is occurring on one side, it is likely from a disc injury affecting the L4 nerve root. If on both sides, may be from acquired spinal stenosis such as from a spondylolisthesis. Iliotibial band syndrome would be another consideration. Most importantly, if there are neurological issues (ie weakness, bladder control probs) then this needs urgent eval.
