Itchy?: Hard to tell if the newborn is itchy - they scratch their faces by accident much of the time. If there is a rash, ask your pediatrician.

Hard to tell: Newborns don't really experience the sensation of itching so its hard to know if their face is itchy or not. There are many newborn rashes that are normal, such as baby acne, that do not require treatment. If your baby has a facial rash or you are worried please see your pediatrician. Keep your baby's nails short-they commonly accidentally scratch their faces.
