Metronidazole: Metronidazole is not typically used for ear infections. First line treatment is usually amoxicillin, however some patients respond better to amoxicillin/clavulonate, or a cephalosporin. Antibiotic allergy must also be considered when choosing, but Metronidazole is usually not among the choices.
