Oral cancers: Few people develop oral leukoplakia ( a precursor to oral cancer) or oral cancers (tongue, gums, throat, etc) unless they use tobacco - specifically chewing / smokeless tobaccos. Although cigars and cigarettes also increase those risks as well as the risk for lung cancer.

Rubbing snuff means rubbing ones gums with chewing tobacco- right? Anyway there are programs that can help you to stop using tobacco. Check through Health Tap ask more questions. Tobacco (nicotine) is very addictive, more addictive than heroin. It might be easy to stop, harder to stay stop. Congrats on your first step learning more about quitting. Smokless tobacco: In a study by greer in 2011, smokless tobacco, the primary oral, mucosal, and hard tissue changes associated with slt use include slt keratosis (stk); gingival inflammation, periodontal inflammation, and alveolar bone damage; and dental caries, tooth abrasion, and dysplasia and oral squamous cell carcinoma (scc). Stks are human papillomavirus. Does the risk outweigh the benefit to chew slt?
