6 weeks: Once sutures are removed, u can start shrinking stump for prosthesis.

4-6 weeks: Agree with others, but i often have patients ready for sutures out in 3-4 weeks and send them on to prosthetic fitting. It depends on swelling and overall wound healing. It's really not fair to place an exact number on this time frame.

Depends: It depends on many factors including the persons overall health and the reason for the amputation. Healing can happen in as little as 10-14 days but it can take longer for other people. Rehab can start immediately to work on moving and doing daily activities while waiting for a prosthesis. Fabrication of the prosthesis takes 4-6 weeks.
