Pregnancy and lupus: Chances of baby developing lupus are very small. Neonatal lupus is a condition in which mothers ant-ro or anti-la antibodies temporarily pass through the placenta to baby and can cause rash or rarely heart block needing a pacemaker. Chances of a childhood lupus born to a lupus mother is less than 10% in females and 2% in males and chance of autoimmune disease in their life lime is 15-20% range.
