A member asked:

Bacterial prostatitis harmful to partner?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Diagnosis of bacterial prostatitis made on basis of symptoms, exam, and an abnormal urinalysis and positive urine culture and usually treated with 2-4 weeks of antibiotics and a follow-up check. Assuming the diagnosis is correct, similar to a uti, bacterial prostatitis is neither harmful nor transmissable to your partner.
