Nope: It's usually not the ovaries which cause pain and cramping after an abortion. The uterus is going back to it's nonpregnant size and that leads to cramping. This can be painful and usually is treated with Ibuprofen and sometimes narcotic pain medicine. If you are having bad pain, fevers, chills, or foul smelling discharge, call your doctor or seek emergency care immediately.
