See below: The life span of sperm after ejaculation depends on the circumstances. Sperm ejaculated into a woman's vagina can live in a woman's cervical mucus or upper genital tract for three to five days. Fertilization is possible as long as the sperm remain alive. Sperm ejaculated outside the body might survive in semen — the fluid released during ejaculation — up to a few hours.

Pregnant be4 ovulati: Yes you can get pregnant before ovulation, as sperm can sometimes live longer than 3 days. Best to always have protected sexual activity. If you do not want to get pregnant.

Egg won't wait: Nothing is impossible, but unlikely to get pregnant 4 days after ovulation. This is more related to the egg which will not wait that long than it is the longevity of sperm. Sperm can last longer than 4 days. If you had sex on day 8 and ovulated on day 12, more likely to conceive than ovulated day 12 and sex day 16.

Possible.: The sperm can live up to 5 days in the female genital tract, so it is possible (albeit unlikely) to get pregnant from unprotected vaginal intercourse 4 days before ovulation. Take Folic Acid >1 mg daily, check a home pregnancy test 1-10 days after a late/missed period and best of luck!
