A member asked:

I just had a hsv 2 igg test at 3.1 months and it was negative. does that mean i am negative for hsv 2 and do not have it?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Likely: Igg is a antibody that typically forms somewhere between 4-6 months following exposure, thus, you may want to consider repeating at 6 months. Did they test for igm as well? Did they perform a culture as well?
