Read!: Attacks can be triggered by many things:an elevated heart rate, thoughts that reinforce feeling out of control, stress or an even worry that you might have a panic attack can cause one! better to focus on learning how to stop one before it gets too intense.There are many good books, workbooks & dvds about this. But if self-help doesn't work, see a therapist who specializes in anxiety disorders.

Anxiety attacks: Many times panic attacks do not have an obvious trigger, and do come out of the blue. In fact that's part of their definition. There may be circumstances that dial up your anxiety-meter, though -- making attacks more likely. Oftentimes working with a psychotherapist can help you track whatever of these can be tracked.
